The Teutoburg Forest/Eggegebirge Nature Park has brought the deserted town of Blankenrode back to life acoustically as part of the "KinderErlebniswelt Natur" (Children's World of Nature)!
At selected locations along the A3 hiking trail, visitors can immerse themselves in the deepest Middle Ages at twelve audio stations - more precisely in the year 1393 when the town of Blankenrode was abandoned and fell desolate.
So if you want to find out more about the medieval town, set off on a journey through time.
Agnes and Konrad, two children from the old town of Blankenrode, take you on a special museum journey, accompanied by typical sounds that match the location. The hammering of a blacksmith, the clatter of horses' hooves and market cries will help you to imagine what life was like over 600 years ago, even if all that remains of the town itself are the ramparts. Today, forest covers the area of the former town.
