The A5 hiking trail near Dalheim is a circular tour of around 12 kilometers that leads through the forest and along beautiful stream valleys.
From the starting point on the "Am Heyersberg" road, the route first heads south past the monastery grounds and along the edge of the forest to Dalheim cemetery and the retention basin, where the path forks. If you choose the left-hand path, the route follows the Piepenbach stream to the next retention basin on the district border, then crosses the highway and continues south past the Blitzhütte hut until just before Meerhof. There, the trail turns right again, leads back to the fork and finally to the starting point. The route is suitable for a longer, varied hike.
