At the Heggehof, water buffalo are a familiar sight on the farm. During the summer months, the animals use a watering hole to wallow and cool off. They also have access to shaded areas. Their diet consists of grass and other plant-based foods; in agricultural settings, the animals are also fed hay, straw, and silage.
The Heggehof farm store offers meat from various animal species. The selection includes beef, lamb, pork, and poultry, as well as water buffalo meat from the farm’s own herd.
