Located between Heder and Flomengraben, right in the heart of Salzkotten, is Franz-Kleine Park. Narrow paths wind through the lush park, passing historic buildings, a waterwheel, and other reminders of the town’s history and its craft traditions.

On the Crafts Island, there is a historic oil mill, a clog-making workshop, a bakery, and a wheelwright’s workshop with a blacksmith’s forge. A seven-meter-tall artistic wheel commemorates the former salt production and the technology used to transport brine to the graduation tower.

The Miller’s Monument and the pump house are also among the historic landmarks in the park. Information panels detail the history of salt production, traditional crafts, and Jewish life in Salzkotten. The park is accessible from downtown via a small bridge.
