Museum/Exhibition
The Salzkottener oil mill from the 16th century was located on today's Oelweg in the east of the town. It was operated as an oil, groats and sawmill in 1767 and only as a grinding mill in 1838. The mill was abandoned in 1863.

In 1986, the Förderverein für kulturhistorische Bauten und Bauwerke e. V. took on the task of rebuilding a mill in Franz-Kleine-Park. The association acquired the technical interior of an old oil mill from Wewelsburg and erected the fully functional building with its characteristic pan grinder on the craft island. The pressing process with two fixed wedges and a central loosening wedge is probably a rarity among the already very rare oil mills.

In addition to the oil mill, a clog maker's workshop, a bakehouse and a wheelwright's workshop with a forge can also be visited on the craft island in Franz-Kleine-Park.
