A piece of Prussian history
The history of the Königsmühle dates back to 1748, when Prussian King Frederick II ordered the construction of the mill. This decision made the mill an important part of the history of Eilhausen and the entire region. Today, it is considered one of the most beautiful and best-known mills along the Westphalian Mill Route, which includes around 40 wind and water mills in total.
The village museum - a glimpse into the lives of the miller families
A particular highlight of the mill is the integrated village museum. It provides visitors with fascinating insights into the life and work of the miller families who ran the Königsmühle for generations. Rooms furnished true to the original and historical exhibits tell the stories of the people who once lived and worked here. A visit to the museum is like a short journey through time and offers a valuable addition to a visit to the mill.
The Königsmühle in operation - experience grinding and baking days
After extensive renovation in 1994, the Königsmühle was restored to working order. In summer, the mill comes to life on certain days: Once a month, the blades of the Dutch windmill turn when the mill group invites visitors to the popular grinding and baking days. Here, visitors have the opportunity to experience the traditional processing of grain up close and taste fresh, home-baked bread - a real experience for the whole family.
