Historic site
We welcome you to Prussia. Because the provisions magazine is a typical building of the Prussian era. The four-storey, neo-Romanesque building (also called the "Körnermagazin" by the people of Minden) was built in 1835 as part of the Minden fortress and covers an area of 3,360 square meters. The attic is equipped with a bomb-beam ceiling and a snow floor. The exterior walls are faced with Porta sandstone.

Together with the neighboring army bakery, the building was used to ensure the Prussian army's supplies within the fortress walls. In the final days of the Second World War, the building was set on fire by German troops as they were clearing the left bank of the Weser. The supply depot was completely burnt out and was a ruin for 30 years before it was renovated and has since housed a school for second-chance education, the Weser-Kolleg.
