The half-timbered house was built at the end of the 15th century in the direct neighbourhood of St. Martini's Church on the grounds of the monastery. The town musician had lived here since the 17th century. His duties included guard and doorman duties and playing during church services.
The small barn, the actual "Windloch", was built next to the residential building in 1648. It is a typical storage building, of which there were many in the town.
Due to its unique shape and size, the "Haus Windloch" is known throughout Minden and is the plus point of building culture and history in Minden. An absolute tip, especially for amateur photographers.
