The half-timbered house was built at the end of the 15th century in the immediate vicinity of St. Martini's Church on the grounds of the monastery. The town musician had lived here since the 17th century. His duties included guard and doorman duties and playing during church services. The small barn, the actual "Windloch", was built next to the residential building in 1648. It is a typical storage building, of which there were many in the town.
Thanks to its unique shape and size, the "Haus Windloch" is known throughout Minden and is a plus in Minden's building culture and history. An absolute tip, especially for amateur photographers.
