The destination of this tour is potts park, a family leisure park where you can join in and be amazed.

You start your tour at the tourist information centre in Minden and travel along Lindenstraße past the central bus station until just before Simeonsplatz. On Simeonsplatz you will find the impressive Prussia Museum, on the left-hand side of the road you will see the former garrison hospital. Behind this building, which is faced with Porta sandstone, you will find the consumer advice centre and some parts of the district administration. The district administration of the Minden-Lübbecke district is located directly next door. On the right-hand side of the street, the neo-classical buildings from the Prussian era are joined by a remarkable design by the Ticino architect Mario Botta - the administration building of HARTING KGaA.

Through the Simeonsglacis you reach the Bastau, a tributary of the Weser. The Weser-Bastau-Weg runs here, which you follow westwards. To cross the B61, the ring road, keep to the south and continue along the Bastau.

At the height of the Hohenstaufenring, cross the Bastau and follow the course of the river for a few kilometres.

You will reach Dützener Weg via Johnstraße, which you follow beyond Lübbecker Straße until you turn right into Friedgartenstraße. At the end, you will reach the Dützener Mühle. Home-baked cakes and bread are on offer there on grinding and baking days. If you continue south along Zechenstraße, you will pass a branch of the Melitta group of companies and turn right at this junction into Bergkirchener Straße.

From there, you can already see Potts Park. The leisure park offers great attractions for the whole family on the former mine site. Among other things, you can experience the world through the eyes of a toddler in the giant flat and learn about scientific phenomena in the permanent exhibition Terra Phänomenalis. After an eventful day, cycle the 7 kilometres or so along the Wiehengebirge back to the city and round off your day here.

This tour can be taken at any time of year - but Potts Park as a destination is only open in season.
