School
It was first mentioned in a document in 798 and became the "Carolingian Cathedral" around 800. In 1530, the cathedral school was considered a grammar school. In 1906, the school became the property of the municipality of Minden. In 1939, the school was closed by the  NSDAP against the will of the parents. 1948-1956 the cathedral was rebuilt. In 1968, it became an elementary school.
In 1976, it moved to Immanuelstraße.
Today, the cathedral school is a state-approved four-form elementary school.

The traditional cathedral school is a public Catholic denominational school in the city of Minden. In this elementary school with four classes, values based on the principles of the Catholic faith are lived together. The cathedral school is also open to children of other denominations and religions whose parents decide in favor of this education and consciously support it.
