Braunsohle bei Paderborn-Dahl
The brown sole is a special type of sinkhole: a wet doline. Water-impermeable clay has gradually accumulated in the funnel. This means that the water cannot drain away. This has created a wetland biotope that provides a valuable habitat for amphibians and dragonflies.
