Bodenornament Lippische Rose

Monument
Between the town hall and the Church of the Redeemer on the market square in Detmold, there is a 3-meter Lippe rose embedded in the ground. There is no other place in Detmold where the historically formative elements worth seeing - church, town and nobility - are so close together;

Grouped around the rose is the 14th/15th century Church of the Redeemer - the only medieval building apart from the castle tower to have survived the great city fire of 1547 - the castle park and the town hall on the market square.
