Bockhorster Dorfkirche

Church
Old village church in the historic center of Bockhorst

The Bockhorst village church was built in the 13th century in the Romanesque style. During renovations in 1893, the world-famous "Bockhorst Triumphal Cross", which dates back to the 12th century, was discovered. It has since been on display in the Westphalian State Museum in Münster. A scaled-down replica adorns the altar of the village church.

The church is located in the center of the historic village center in the middle of the half-timbered house ensemble. The church square is home to a restaurant, "Emil's Wirtshaus", with an outdoor terrace and vacation apartments.
