Rastplatz \"Fühlen\"

Rest area

Rest area on the "Trail for connoisseurs" hiking trail

The rest area is right next to Vossiek's mill, next to a culvert. What is that? An underpass for watercourses. The special thing about this place: One stream is led under the other here. This prevents flooding at the former confluence of the Dissener and  Bockhorster streams.

The rest area is part of the "Weg für Genießer" hiking trail, which focuses on the five senses of touch, hearing, smell, taste and sight with appropriately equipped rest areas in the municipalities of Borgholzhausen, Halle, Steinhagen, Versmold and Werther. The "Holzi-Lehmstein" art project has installed an 8 m long sensory station at the rest area. Another one is located in front of the local history museum at Speckstraße 12.

The trail connects the five municipalities over a distance of around 95 km and the adjacent restaurants and cafés offer culinary delights, such as gourmet menus.
