Bleichhäuschen

Historic site
Situated under old trees by the Violenbach stream with the remains of the old bleaching meadows and within sight of the former sailcloth weaving mill, the bleaching house today serves to illustrate the old linen trade in the Ravensberg region.

As one of the last bleaching houses in Westphalia, the dilapidated building was restored to its original location by the Borgholzhausen local history association in 1996. Situated under old trees by the Violenbach stream with the remains of the old bleaching meadows and within sight of the former canvas weaving mill, it now serves to illustrate the old linen trade in the Ravensberg region. Linen tea towels are hand-woven on the loom from 1864. They can be purchased.
