This signposted circular route through the natural river meadows is a cycling pleasure for everyone thanks to its very gentle gradients.

This easy-to-bike circular route without any significant gradients offers cycling pleasure through the partly very natural floodplains of the Werre and Else rivers on the one hand, and a ride through the gently undulating cultural landscape of Quernheim and Löhne-Mennighüffen with beautiful renovated historic farmhouses and the state-approved resort of Randringhausen on the other.

After starting in Löhne, you first cycle through the Elseaue and past the kart track and the Aqua Fun leisure pool in Kirchlengern. At the Mühlenbach stream, the route turns north and you reach Randringhausen comfortably and without any significant inclines along the Mühlenbach and Ostbach streams. The old farmer's spa invites you to linger with its 266-hectare landscaped park and several places to stop for refreshments. A little later, you will reach the collegiate church in Stift Quernheim, which was built as a monastery church in the 12th century. The manor house next to the church is now home to the Ravensberger Land Biological Station. After a pleasant ride through rural settlements, meadows, fields and the Ulenburg Forest, Ulenburg Castle, a moated castle built in 1570 in the Weser Renaissance style, lies to the left of the route. Via Löhne-Mennighüffen, you finally return to the starting point of the tour in Löhne.

The route leads almost exclusively along independent cycle paths with an easily navigable water-bound surface and asphalted farm tracks, some of which are closed to through traffic. This means that the circular route is also suitable for families with children due to the very low traffic load.

An alternative starting point is the train station in Kirchlengern, which also offers parking facilities and can be reached from Herford or Bad Oeynhausen by regional express or Eurobahn. Limited bicycle transport is possible here.

Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the Herford district cycling leisure website: www.fahr-im-kreis.de.
