The band has been around since February 2013 and all of its members come from Lübbecke and the surrounding area (Rödinghausen, Bünde). However, some of the performances by "LK Jazz XXpRReSS" take place far beyond the borders of OWL.
Some members of the band can already draw on many years of experience with the "Jazz Group Lübbecke" and are members of the Lübbecke Jazz Club.
The "LK Jazz XXpRReSS" does not play "difficult jazz", but rather sounds for lovers of swing and blues, perhaps even Dixieland. And all of this is arranged and presented in a dynamic and witty way.
The band's repertoire includes jazz standards ("Basin Street Blues", "Black and Blue", "St. Louis Blues") as well as well-known titles from other genres, which are interpreted in a new and jazzy way. The formation currently offers three different concert programs to choose from.
The first program "Jazz Standards, interpreted in OWL" is already known to fans of LK Jazz XXpRReSS and has been acclaimed by listeners and critics.
The next program is called "Jazz World Tour with LK Jazz XXpRReSS". Well-known titles will be interpreted in a new and jazzy way. The jazz pieces of composers from all over the world are also an integral part of the jazz world tour.
"Wir jazzen Deutsch" is a good mood program of the creative jazz band. It is sung in German, of course, and includes many evergreens and jazz standards. The lyrics of some titles were written by the band's former pianist Dr. Jürgen Meyer.
The musicians of LK Jazz XXpRReSS attach great importance to dynamic arrangements and a relaxed presentation.
