Until the middle of the 19th century, Lübbecke was a small town whose inhabitants were predominantly characterized by crafts, trade and agriculture in the surrounding villages. When the first steam engines arrived and courageous factory owners emerged from the middle classes, the picture changed. Industrialization created thousands of new jobs. There are also many anecdotes to tell about branded products that were and are shipped from Lübbecke to all corners of the globe.
