It is intended to provide relaxation for the body and soul, promote health, has a rather cheerful character, and naturally appeals to a wide audience, the spa music. A particularly successful advocate of this genre is the "Staatsbad Orchester".
The founder and conductor of the Staatsbad Orchester is the native Hungarian György Kovacs, who studied clarinet and graduated from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.
The daily spa music is performed by an ensemble of up to seven musicians, in the mornings and afternoons, except on Mondays. During the winter months, the orchestra performs in a smaller lineup. The spa concerts feature potpourris in the first half, for example from operettas and overtures, and in the second half musical and pop melodies, swing, Dixieland, and more. Special concerts have specific themes, such as the Italian journey with music from Verdi and Rossini, or French composers like Bizet and Massenet. The most attended are the request concerts on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons.
