30 shining wooden stars, lovingly handcrafted with a lot of volunteer heart and soul, will once again bathe the Bad Driburg city park in a contemplative, pre-Christmas light in 2025. Halfway through the park, right next to the picnic pavilion by the town pond, an illuminated nativity scene invites you to linger a while.
The more than 2,500 small lights not only make the stars in the sky shine. ✩
With a little luck, the snow will conjure up a winter wonderland to match.

Lights in Bad Driburg's town park
Bad Driburg has a new Christmas trail that leads through the middle of the town park. 30 beautiful wooden stars line the path and in the middle, a nativity scene at the picnic area invites you to take a break. With a warm cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine and a few cookies in your luggage, you can enjoy a little contemplation here. Every day from 3 p.m., a total of 2,500 little lights start to shine. "With this campaign, we want to conjure up a little cosiness, anticipation and a Christmassy atmosphere for our guests and the people of Bad Driburg in the dark season and are delighted with the positive feedback from visitors," says Simone Fiene from Bad Driburger Touristik GmbH, who implemented the project together with volunteers. The idea of an illuminated Christmas trail has been in the drawer for some time and the right place for it was found last year in the town park.
"It has turned out really beautifully and we are pleased to see that the decorations last and are not stolen or destroyed. On the contrary - a Christmas bauble and a candle have even been placed by the crib," reports Andrea Gründer happily. And the visitors are also happy about this campaign. "I'm not such a fan of glitz and glamor during Advent. But I think this simple, rather minimalist Christmas path is beautiful," is one piece of feedback. The city park was further enhanced in the summer with the boules court and the new outdoor chess field. This is why the Stadtpark interest group, together with Karin Rosemann, the town's local heritage officer, welcomes this Christmas campaign by Bad Driburger Touristik GmbH and is very happy to support the helpers!
The stars will continue to illuminate the Stadtpark from dusk until 9 p.m. until at least December 28, 2025.
