The 3rd League promises another season of thrilling matchups.
Opponents include the Hannover Indians and the Hannover Scorpions, the Füchse Duisburg, the TecArt Black Dragons from Erfurt, the Icefighters Leipzig, the Saale Bulls Halle, the Hammer Eisbären, the Herner EV Miners, the Tilburg Trappers, and the Rostock Piranhas. as well as the EHC Neuwied.

The Herford Ice Hockey Club is home to the Young Dragons, Lady Dragons, and Ice Dragons. Since the 2020–21 season, the Ice Dragons have been competing in the Oberliga Nord, which is classified as the third tier of professional ice hockey leagues in Germany.
Their home arena is the imos Ice Rink “Im Kleinen Felde,” a standing-room-only venue that can accommodate up to 1,029 spectators. In the recent history of the club, which was founded in 2004, the team won the Regionalliga West championship twice, in 2018 and 2019, before making the leap to the Oberliga Nord in 2020.
