The last remaining windmill in Vlotho of the original 52 windmills and watermills in the town has been restored to its former glory in 2009 after several years of renovation and is now fully functional.
Built in 1850 from mighty quarry stones, the cap windmill is idyllically situated on Steinegger Berg and offers the viewer an impressive sight. Civil weddings are also possible in the building, which is protected as a technical cultural monument.
The mill association organizes events such as mill and harvest days and offers guided tours with coffee for groups.
