This unsignposted nature tour through the north-eastern outskirts of Herford is an ideal circular route for all nature lovers. The route starts and finishes at the Ewiger Frieden cemetery in Herford on the road "Zum Ewigen Frieden"

The Herford Nature Route starts at the large "Eternal Peace" cemetery in Herford, where the tawny owl lets out its "Come along - Come along!". First, you head to the old firing range, where the police and British army still practice today. With a beautiful view over the town, the path climbs up to the small St. Thomas church in Schwarzenmoor. Passing a hedge, the route winds its way over the "Egge" through woods and meadows to the Heeperhof in a fantastic location. With many impressions of the Bramschebach valley, you reach the Werre valley via grassy paths. In addition to an abandoned farmstead, you can hear many nightingales there in spring! The cycle path leads through the wide floodplain of the river past an old lime tree and the Eimterbäumerhof farm back to the starting point.

Further information on the route and the waypoints can be found on the Herford district cycling leisure website: www.fahr-im-kreis.de. An audio guide and a brochure are also available for download there.
