Die letzten Wacholderheiden am Teutoburger Wald | Gemeinde Steinhagen

Nature discovery trail
What do you think of when you hear "Steinhagen"? Of course - "Steinhäger"! No Steinhagen without Steinhäger - or vice versa? After all, the place name gave its name to the world-famous juniper schnapps. You can find remnants of a juniper heath in the Teutoburg Forest.
The juniper heaths can only be reached on foot. After a few sometimes strenuous meters in altitude, you reach the juniper heaths on the ridge path of the Teutoburg Forest. The Hermannsweg, the trail for connoisseurs and the Bergweltenweg run parallel here. The adjacent audio station also provides information about Steinhagen, Steinhäger and juniper.

Tip: The heath blooms in late summer!
