From the very beginning, the sisters from Vincenzhaus maintained good relations with the villagers. Very soon, sisters from Vincenzhaus began volunteering at the kindergarten and in community care. There was a sewing school, and at Vincenzhaus Borchen, young women could receive training in home economics. Since the 1960s, elderly sisters from the community have been spending their twilight years here.
