St. Vincenz Sisters' House (Borchen Convent)

The “St. Vincenz” Sisters’ Home was acquired in 1894 by the Cooperative of the Sisters of Mercy from Mr. Hubert Hoeken, a nephew of the community’s third Superior General, Sister M. Beata Hoeken, for the purpose of providing rest and recuperation for sisters who were working in nursing and were in poor health. For many years, the “convent”—as the Vincenzhaus is known among the residents of Kirchborchen—served this purpose.
