Schloss Iggenhausen

Fortress/Castle
At the turn of the millennium, Iggenhausen was acquired by Corvey Monastery near Höxter.

The monastery's tenants developed into fief holders and from then on belonged to the landed Lippe nobility. Only parts of the ring wall of the medieval tower mound still remain.

The castle chapel dates back to the 18th century. The park is home to the oldest greenhouse in the region (1860); the manor house was built between 1856 and 1865. The grounds are open to visitors.
