Stadtwald-Werre-Weg

First, the path leads you through a small "maze" to the "stone grotto". Several memorial stones have been erected there. The old lime tree gives the place a special atmosphere. Continuing along the path, you will soon come to a meadow orchard of around 8,000 square meters to the left of the main path. In spring, the scent of blossoming apple and pear trees fills the air. The orchard also offers plenty for children to discover. They have the opportunity to play on the foot adventure trail, the animal long jump and the balancing station. You can enjoy the lush green of the mixed beech forest through the city forest. Deadwood trees provide a new home for numerous animals, e.g. woodpeckers and bats. When you leave the forest area, you come to the "Werresiek" via the old army road. From here, the water is your constant companion. A winding path, lined with pollarded willows, large deciduous trees and insect-friendly plants, leads you further towards the town until you are back at your starting point.
