Ruine Brenken

Fortress/Castle
The Niederburg was the manor house of the von Brenken family. The ruins of the old moated castle lie below the current family seat, Erpernburg Castle, between the paper and saw mills. Known as "Niederburg auf der Brede", it was the old ancestral seat of the family. Despite its early destruction in the 17th century, remnants of this old moated castle still stand today.
