Grooming ponies, caring for animals, going on exploration tours in the woods, and working with natural materials—there’s plenty for children to experience at RekersJans in Delbrück-Westenholz. In addition to ponies and horses, the farm is also home to goats, Galloway cattle, chickens, bees, dogs, and cats.
In the pony classes, children get to know the animals, learn more about their needs, and practice grooming, caring for them, and leading them safely. Their first experiences riding a horse are also part of the program. In addition, pony afternoons and trial lessons are offered.
The “RekersJans Wäldchen” is also part of the program. Here, children explore, collect, build, and work with natural materials. Horse-assisted workshops for children, parents, and adults round out the program. These sessions focus on perception, communication, and cooperation—without riding.
