The "Auesee" - natural idyll and habitat

The "Auesee" was created between 1979 and 1981 and is the heart of the landscape. With a water surface area of 8.2 hectares and an adjacent area of around 27 hectares, it provides an important habitat for protected plant and animal species. Parts of the lake and the surrounding area have been designated a nature reserve in order to preserve the sensitive natural environment. The harmonious integration of the lake into the landscape makes it a popular destination for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation.

The "See am Kleihügel" - swimming fun and relaxation in nature

On the western side of the "Große Aue", the "See am Kleihügel", a recreational and swimming lake with a water surface area of 5.6 hectares, was created in subsequent years. Its characteristic shore shape blends in perfectly with its surroundings and offers a variety of opportunities for natural recreation. Shallow water zones, adjacent marshes and wet meadows as well as marsh islands in the lake create habitats for numerous plant species.
