Lake Lippe is located around nine kilometers from Paderborn city centre in the Sande district. The lake, which was created by sand excavation, has now reached a size of over 100 hectares and has developed into a popular leisure lake. The Paderborn lake landscape around the Lippesee offers a wide range of opportunities for almost every taste. You can go sailing, surfing, water skiing, pedal boating, stand-up paddling, cycling, walking, jogging, mini golf, horse riding, camping or relaxing on the beach - and of course stop off at the attractive restaurants around the lake. The skate park, beach volleyball and beach handball courts, boules court, streetball court, off-road bike course, children's playgrounds and a youth campsite, which is open to school classes and organized youth groups, are particularly popular with children and young people.
Along the six-kilometre circular trail, there are plenty of viewing points and benches with views of the lake to take a break.
