Church

The Catholic vicarage parish of Borgholzhausen, which has almost 1,200 members, has its origins in the Haus Brincke pastoral care center, where there has been a chapel since the 17th century. After the war, the influx of many Catholics from the eastern territories necessitated the founding of an independent parish based in Borgholzhausen. The rectory and church were built in 1956/57, but the latter soon proved to be too small. Long-term plans for an extension led to the construction of a new church, which was consecrated on October 23, 1971 by the Auxiliary Bishop of Paderborn, Dr. Paul Nordhues. The premises of the "old" church are now used as a weekday church and community center after appropriate renovations. The Borgholzhausen parish vicarage belonged to the parish of St. Johannes-Ev. Halle-Stockkämpen until 2001. Since the establishment of the Versmold-Borgholzhausen parish association, it has been assigned to the parish of St. Michael Versmold.
