Due to regulatory requirements, canoeing is not permitted in the Lippe river restoration area in Paderborn-Sande until fall 2026.
For experienced paddlers
The upper reaches of the Lippe in the Paderborn-Sande area are more challenging due to their stronger current and several weirs, and are better suited for experienced canoeists or guided tours.
For Beginners
From Hörste to Hamm-Uentrop, the Lippe flows more calmly and without weirs. This section is particularly well-suited for beginners, families, and relaxed day trips.

If you’d like to book a guided tour or rent boats, you’ll find suitable options from various regional tour operators.
