Kantorschule Lage

Museum/Exhibition
The Kantorschule was built in 1860/61. Constantly rising pupil numbers forced the town fathers to consider how new school space could be found. The proceeds from the sale of schools that had become too small were initially used to purchase other buildings until the decision was made to build a new school in 1859. In 1886, another new building had to be erected on Sedanplatz with four classrooms.

In the past, the building housed the local history museum of the town of Lage, which was set up by the town architect Heinrich Graf. It showed the history of brickmaking in Lippe. This section of Lage's town history was handed over to the Lage brickworks in the Hagen district.
