Marvel at old tools and try them out creatively
The listed Hiddenhausen estate also includes three half-timbered barns where the tithes (compulsory levies) of local farmers used to be stored. Today, the woodworking museum is located here and displays over 1500 tools and machines for woodworking from before 1955. You can marvel at everything a master craftsman once needed - from planes, saws and drills to compasses. The fully equipped carpenter's workshop is a particular gem of the museum (www.holzhandwerksmuseum.de/)
The KulturWerkstatt (www.kuwehi.de) has been offering a framework in which creativity can develop for more than 10 years. It is good to share new experiences with other people in the old corn barn - experiences that not only appeal to the head, but also give the hands the opportunity to dream, create and be creative directly from the gut. Heart, head and hand come together here and create a balance to everyday life. The current program of the KulturWerkstatt offers a cross-section of old craft traditions, music, literature and various children's courses.
The old workshop is now a cozy café.
You can enjoy a delicious breakfast there on Sunday mornings from 10 am! The breakfast table awaits you on the sunny terrace with a view of the beautiful rose blossom or the small pond where ducks frolic. And if it's too cold, a small fire is lit in the oven in the cozy café.
From 2 p.m. there are homemade cakes and pies! (www.cafe-hiddenhausen.de)More info: www.fahr-im-kreis.de
