The Meyer zu Heepen farm was first mentioned in a document in 1036 and is the nucleus of the village of Heepen. In earlier times, it was one of the largest farms in the Ravensberg region, but is no longer used for agricultural purposes. The impressive farmstead with its preserved moats and the former watermill with weir is an experience for hikers and walkers.
Together with the adjacent Heeperholz forest areas, this landscape area links the Lutter green corridor, the Heeper Fichten and the Baderbach green corridor, which has not yet been fully developed.
The old buildings are now used by the Naturfreunde, which has also been operating a bouldering hall since 2017.
