Renaissance manor house as Haus des Gastes
The former manor house was built in its current form as a moated castle in 1558 and has served as a "Haus des Gastes" since 1981. The tower with the conical roof, which most likely served as a pigeon tower, and the historic stone bridge over the moat are particularly striking. Parts of the original watermill and several farm buildings have also been preserved and reflect the architecture of the Renaissance period.
Historic Holzhausen Spa Park - Baroque design and natural paradise
The surrounding spa park, which was historically redesigned in the 1980s, offers visitors a varied mix of Baroque park design and natural meadows and water features. The park design also includes natural meadows and wetland biotopes, which extend the spa park to the south and are a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
Landscape park with romantic water features
In the 19th century, a landscape park was created around the manor house, which was enlarged by filling in the moats. The remaining part of the moat was integrated into the pond landscape and today offers a picturesque backdrop for walks and relaxation. The bridge over the pond connects the gardens and lends the park a romantic charm.
