Flood stele

Monument
The wooden stele shows the flood levels of the last 100 years.
The flood stele is an artistic work by Wladimir Zlatkov and documents the flood levels of the last hundred years. Even though it is known that the city gates had to be crossed by boat during some floods, even the highest water levels have not been able to flood the centre of the settlement around the historic town hall. This is certainly one reason for the early settlement of the area.
