Museum/Exhibition

The collection includes a large number of extraordinary exhibits. The horse turntable ladder from 1903 with its 26-meter extension is the largest and heaviest of its kind in Germany. In addition, a considerable collection of historical vehicles has been assembled. Over the years, the development of the turntable ladder has emerged as a particular focus of the collection. There is also a department dedicated to preventive fire protection and fire safety education - especially for children - where adults can still learn something too.

In 1972, the current museum director Hans Kleemeier began collecting various firefighting exhibits. His collection reached a remarkably museum-like size with 5,000 items. In 1990, the "Kirchlengern-Quernheim Fire Brigade Museum" was opened in Häver
