The Brünneken is closely linked to the pilgrimage in Verne, which dates back to 1171. During the weeks of May, the pilgrimage leads to the chapel with the miraculous image of “Our Lady of Verne, Comforter of the Afflicted.” The May processions take place on the first and third Sundays in May. Even outside of the processions, Mass is celebrated regularly in the chapel.
Along the path to the chapel stand seven wayside shrines dating from 1679. The sandstone reliefs depict the Seven Joys of Mary and are part of the history of the pilgrimage site.

- From the through road in Verne ("Hauptstraße") turn south into the street "Zum Brünneken". Follow the road to the end of the village and use the parking facilities there. Then walk through the small park to the chapel.
