Park/gardens
Around 40 tree species can be seen in the arboretum.

About 40 native and exotic tree species have now found a home in the Paderborn Arboretum. Every year on Arbor Day (April 25), the respective "Tree of the Year" is planted. In addition, a whole range of shrubs and wild plants grow in the arboretum, providing food and shelter for butterflies, bumblebees, bees and numerous other insect species. The insects in turn attract birds in search of food.

In this respect, the arboretum not only offers the opportunity to get to know different tree species, but also to observe numerous animals. A circular path leads past the different tree species; signs indicate the German and botanical name of the tree as well as the country of origin. A visit to the arboretum is particularly worthwhile during the flowering season in spring.
