Regional trains and the S-Bahn run to Paderborn, Detmold, Bielefeld, Höxter, and Kassel, among other destinations. Long-distance trains also stop in Altenbeken and provide connections beyond the region.
There are bus connections right at the train station, making it possible to reach Altenbeken and other nearby destinations even without a car.
Bicycle parking spaces are available for those continuing their journey by bike. Park-and-ride lots make it easy to switch from car to train.
