Once you have enjoyed all the surprises of the 2017 State Garden Show in Bad Lippspringe, the last 20 kilometers, the ninth stage of the LGS route, are on the agenda. The cathedral and university city of Paderborn awaits as the destination of your journey. Whether it's the Pader springs, old town, town hall, Three Rabbit Window, cathedral or diocesan museum - Paderborn has a lot to offer!

Located on the southern edge of the Teutoburg Forest and at the foothills of the Egge Mountains, the climatic spa town borders directly on the unspoilt alpine pasture landscape. Bad Lippspringe has a lot to offer: 5 springs, 3 parks and a spa forest as well as beautiful cafés and restaurants, several star hotels and great events. A visit to the garden show, which emerged from the successful 2017 State Garden Show, makes the experience in Bad Lippspringe perfect. Guests experience a retreat for local recreation in the middle of the city and can escape the stress of everyday life for a few hours.

The best way to get to the over 1200-year-old cathedral and university city of Paderborn is undoubtedly by bike: the various cycle routes lead you along the Pader, through green meadows and floodplains to the city center, where numerous sights to see, a spacious pedestrian zone to stroll through and cosy street cafés to rest await you. With over 150,000 inhabitants, Paderborn has all the amenities of a large university city and even the world's largest computer museum, the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

Did you know that Paderborn is home to the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (HNF), the largest computer museum in the world? Here, the history of information technology from cuneiform writing to modern computer technology is presented on several levels in an entertaining and hands-on way. Many stations invite visitors to try things out and join in, so that children can also spend an eventful and educational day here. Changing exhibitions highlight different topics from technology and development.
