Every forest has its own history - and so does the ground beneath it. The 2.6 km Green Fox Trail tells exciting stories about the forest on the Kahler Berg.
The Kahle Berg has a number of interesting stories to tell. For example, about the forest: a long time ago, it was used as a herding forest to herd cattle. The bare hilltop gave the mountain its name "Kahler Berg". Today, a natural forest grows here, which is largely left to its own devices. The mountain has not always been here either. Millions of years ago, a sea covered this region. The former seabed was squeezed and folded open. Today it forms the ridge of the Bald Mountain.

The Green Fox Trail gets to the bottom of all these stories. Along its 2.6 km route, many different stations invite you to join in and encourage families in particular to (re)discover the forest and its inhabitants with all their senses. Take part in the fox quiz, listen to the tree telephone and discover how much life there is in a dead tree. Finally, everyone can jump as far as a fox - or a wild boar!

The Green Fox Trail runs as a circular route from the Olderdissen Wildlife Park around the Kahler Berg. At the end, you can stop off at Meierhof Olderdissen and anyone who hasn't had enough exercise can let off steam in the large playground!

Family fun included:
There's lots to discover about the forest and its inhabitants on the Green Fox Trail. You'll also find plenty of opportunities to play, balance and conduct little experiments. Don't miss the fox quiz! From station 7 at the botanical garden, you can show what you already know about the forest and the trees, their flowers and fruits.

First crank, then listen!
At station 6 of the Green Fox Trail, you can get active yourself, because only those who crank will also hear something! For example, you will find out when the best time is to admire the little firefly on its nuptial flight!

The project was implemented together with the environmental department of the city of Bielefeld and funded by the Teutoburg Forest Association Bielefeld and the district government of Münster with funds from the nature conservation funding guideline (FöNa) of the Ministry of the Environment, Agriculture, Nature Conservation and Consumer Protection of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
