The Easter wheel town of Lügde looks back on a long history that can still be felt in many places today. The past comes alive particularly in the historic town center with its fully preserved town wall, fortified towers and half-timbered houses. The town is one of the most cohesive farming towns in our country and is therefore also a member of the "Historic Town Centers in East Westphalia/Lippe" association.
The town was first mentioned in a document in 784 as "villa liuhidi". The actual founding of the town of Lügde dates back to 1245. It was laid out as a "small fortified town" and was the fortified center for the territorial policy of the Counts of Pyrmont until 1668. Take a short tour of the historic old town and discover the most beautiful sights of this farming town.
