Along the way, you will come across a charming alpaca farm, whose friendly inhabitants make for an unforgettable experience. The route continues along shady forest paths through mixed woodland, past mysterious ponds that are home to various amphibian species, to the northernmost point in the district of Gütersloh. Passing an old quarry inhabited by bats and dormice, you follow the Steinbach stream over natural forest floors.
On reaching the crest of the Hermannsweg trail, you pass fields in full bloom and majestic sycamore trees. The Luisenturm tower is the perfect place for a short break. Take the opportunity to climb the tower and enjoy the breathtaking view over the Gütersloh countryside.
