In 1958, Herbert Borchard took over the restaurant and grocery store (see picture) from Willi Kröger. The conditions were initially modest, but the start was successful and the premises were soon expanded.
A short time later, the owner wanted to use the rooms himself, so a plot of land was purchased 200 meters away. The grocery store and restaurant flourished, and Herbert Borchard soon acquired a sales van with which he traveled to the villages in the surrounding area. He brought groceries of all kinds and, above all, fresh milk to customers' homes.
Around a dozen young traders were trained over the years.
Recognizing the signs of the times, the grocery store and sales van were given up and we still concentrate on catering today.
