Wolderus Chapel

The simple hall building from 1735, extended in 1852, is the fifth Wolderus Chapel to be built on the same site, which was first erected in 825 as a burial place for the founder of the monastery, Waltger/Wolderus. The Vita Waltgeri, a medieval manuscript, provides information about his life. From 1652-1692 and then again from 1800-1902, the Protestant Reformed faithful worshipped here. Today it is home to the Greek Orthodox community, who call the building Nektarios Chapel.
