Verlar Village Square & Park
In the village square itself, trees along the nature trail, forest sofas, benches, and picnic tables invite visitors to take a break. From these seating areas, the view extends all the way to the Lippe floodplains. Those looking for some exercise can play bocce, enjoy beach volleyball during the summer months, or play on the disc golf course year-round.
The ten holes of the disc golf course reflect themes from the surrounding landscape. Together with the tree trail, the insect hotel, the biotope, the orchard meadow, the mill wheel, and the boules court, they provide information on nature, climate protection, and local history. A free smart-city app supplements the stations with digital content. Using augmented reality and artificial intelligence, information is presented interactively and in multiple languages. A climate quiz in the form of a scavenger hunt invites visitors to explore the content in a playful way.
Disc golf discs can be borrowed free of charge during opening hours from the local company Möbel-Mit.
