Our history
Tchibo stands for a unique business model. Tchibo operates around 900 stores, over 24,300 retail outlets and national online stores in eight countries. In addition to coffee and the Cafissimo and Qbo single-serve systems, the company offers weekly changing non-food ranges and services such as travel and mobile communications via this multi-channel sales system. In 2022, Tchibo generated sales of 3.25 billion euros with 11,318 employees worldwide. Tchibo is the roasted coffee market leader in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Hungary and is one of the leading e-commerce companies in Europe.
Founded in Hamburg in 1949, the family-owned company has received several awards for its sustainable business policy: the 2012 Award for Business Ethics and the Environmental Award for Logistics and the CSR Awards of the German Federal Government and the EU in 2013. In 2016, Tchibo was named Germany's most sustainable large company.
